Our athletics program emphasizes teamwork, character development, and sportsmanship, providing students with the opportunity to compete and thrive both on and off the field.
Position Overview:
HTHNC is seeking passionate and committed individuals to lead one of our athletic teams as a Head Coach. This is a seasonal, stipend-based position ideal for someone who is enthusiastic about mentoring student-athletes, fostering a positive team culture, and building competitive programs that reflect the values of our school.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and lead practices, games, and team activities
Teach fundamental skills, strategies, and sportsmanship
Build strong relationships with student-athletes, families, and staff
Communicate effectively with players, parents, and the Athletic Director
Promote academic and personal growth alongside athletic development
Ensure a safe and respectful team environment
Coordinate with assistant coaches and school administration
Qualifications:
Prior coaching experience (preferably at the middle school or high school level)
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Ability to model integrity, perseverance, and teamwork
CPR/First Aid certified (or willingness to obtain)
Must complete required background checks and clearance procedures
Available for practices and games typically held weekday afternoons/evenings
Preferred Qualifications:
CIF Coaching Certification (or willing to complete training)
Experience working with diverse student populations
Familiarity with project-based learning environments
